Pension Welfare
All Pension and Welfare Officers are required to attend bi-annual training provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs and must be formally recognised by the Department to be able to work within their discipline. However, the majority of Officers engage in community seminars on many and varied topics in an attempt to keep abreast of the every changing legislation covering services to Veterans.
Our motto is “Get it Right the First Time”.
Outreach Program This service provides the opportunity for those veterans to obtain services but because of numerous reasons cannot attend the Sub Branch for an interview. Both Pensions and Welfare Officers staff this program.
Pensions Outline This division is staffed by volunteers who have undergone extensive training for the processing of claims on behalf of a Veteran. They may also review your current benefits and make a further claim on your behalf if it is appropriate. If your claim is not accepted by the Department of Veterans Affairs and you wish to appeal the decision, formally trained Pension Officers can and will represent you in the appeals process, up to and including the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, which is a duly constituted Court of Law.

Funerals/Poppy Service
One of the more serious duties and obligations is to ensure that when a member of the Sub Branch or any veteran dies we offer the next of kin the opportunity to have a Poppy Servicearranged by the RSL. We conduct the traditional RSL segment of the service if it is their wish or request, even if the service is conducted by the clergy or a celebrant. For our part we simply wish to acknowledge the late veteran's contribution to the peace and freedom of his/her beloved country.
